Diggin DUkes- yesterday, today, tomorrow

Diggin’ Dukes is James Madison University Athletic’s largest annual giving campaign,  run by the official fundraising arm for James Madison University Athletics, the Duke Club. For “Yesterday,” we focused on bringing JMU Athletics’ history back to life through archival footage, photos, newspapers, and other materials from the JMU archives. I helped sort through old footage in our archives closet, then worked through different ways to visually tell the story of looking back in time. I also helped execute several of the practical shots, including the spotlight effect, shot entirely with my coworker Kait's phone flashlight and a rolled up piece of paper.

Diggin DUkes- yesterday, today, tomorrow
For “Today,” we wanted to showcase where JMU Athletics and its team's are now since joining the Sun Belt Conference and becoming an FBS school by pulling from the work of the creatives who have helped tell their stories. The video brought together current moments, athletes, and visuals from across JMU Athletics to capture what it means to be a Duke.

Diggin DUkes- yesterday, today, tomorrow
“Tomorrow” was built around the idea of looking toward a future that hasn’t happened yet. The challenge was figuring out how to visually represent something that doesn’t exist, so we focused on creating a feeling rather than telling a specific story. The final piece became a more forward-looking, emotional conclusion to the Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow campaign, an idea that ended up panning out well as our Football Team made their first College Football Playoff appearance less than a month after this video went live.

50 days until tipoff

For “50 Days to Tipoff,” I wanted to bring together the history of both JMU basketball programs while building anticipation for a new season. The video combines some of the best moments from the men’s and women’s teams over the years with the energy of what’s ahead. Coming off the women’s 2026 Sun Belt Championship and with 13 of 15 new players on the men’s roster, the video was about celebrating where JMU basketball has been while looking forward to an entirely new chapter.
