100th Carolinas Women's Amateur Championship Recap
My first tournament of my 2026 summer internship was the 100th Carolinas Women’s Amateur Championship at Grandfather Golf and Country Club in Grandfather, North Carolina. I created this video recap to showcase not only the significance of the championship, but also the history, tradition, and opportunities that the CGA helps create for golfers across the Carolinas.
From a creative standpoint, I wanted the video to feel as momentous and exciting as the 100th playing of the championship. I incorporated interviews with the club’s Director of Golf and the tournament champion, while also highlighting the connection between the tournament’s history and Grandfather’s founder, who had previously won this event multiple times. In post-production, I used After Effects to create player lower thirds and interview graphics, along with sound design to make viewers feel immersed in the tournament experience.
This project gave me the opportunity to tell the story of an organization that has spent more than a century creating competitive opportunities and celebrating the game of golf.

112th Carolinas Amateur Championship Recap
Another project I created during my 2026 summer internship with the CGA was this recap of the 112th Carolinas Amateur Championship at Governors Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The tournament featured one of the most dramatic finishes of the summer, as we had 16 players within 5 shots of the lead at 11am the morning of the the final day of our championship.
For this recap, I wanted to capture the intensity and unpredictability of championship golf. I focused on the emotion of the final round, the players battling throughout the leaderboard, and the moments that ultimately led to Boyce’s victory. Through a combination of competition footage, sound design, and graphics, I wanted viewers to feel like they were experiencing the championship alongside the players. Projects like this are a reflection of what the Carolinas Golf Association provides for amateur golfers: opportunities to compete at a high level, create meaningful memories, and continue building their careers in the sport.

112 for the 112th
One of my favorite projects I created during my summer with the Carolinas Golf Association was this feature video on the last day of the 112th Carolinas Amateur Championship. Similar to the par 3's at the 100th Carolinas Women's Amateur Championship, on the final day of the championship we had one of the holes playing 112 yards in honor of the 112th playing of this championship.
I was able to turn this video around and post within 20 minutes of the pin position being cut in order to get this video live on our socials before any of our players teed off that morning.

Jenna kim champion feauture
The Carolinas Golf Association has 8 "majors": 4 female championships (North Carolina Junior Girls, Carolinas Junior Girls, North Carolina Women's Amateur, Carolina Women's Amateur) and 4 male championships. No one in Carolinas Golf History had ever won all four championships for their division... until Jenna Kim.
Kim won the 2026 NC Women's Amateur Championship, and then two weeks later, won the NC Junior Girls Championship to complete what could be considered the CGA's version of a Grand Slam. She became the first player to capture all four women's exemption championships: the Carolinas Women's Amateur, Carolinas Junior Girls' Championship, North Carolina Women's Amateur, and North Carolina Junior Girls' Championship. Kim was the youngest winner of the Carolinas Women's Amateur in 2023 at just 14 years old. Getting to talk with Jenna about her experience playing junior golf and her love for the game was an honor, and getting to feature her story across our social media platforms was an even bigger joy.
